About

We are an educational program located in the outskirts of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. We prepare youth with creative tools to solve local problems.

We aim to empower students to solve local problems to transform the environment and the community. An important aspect of our program is the emotional development of the students. We create a community based on respect, love and care among all.

Activities

Inventions
We identify problems (pollution, security, lack of recreational areas...) and propose a solution through creative methods.

Workshops
We provide workshops on topics requested by the youth: photography, cooking, first aid, tattoos, carpentry, etc.

Recreational
Because laughing together and creating happy memories is fundamental, we take our time to do fun stuff.

Our educational pillars

Our program provides three main tools:

Creative problem solving

We use an adapted version of the “Design Thinking” methodology mixed with our own tools to think divergently, based on artistic practices and processes.

Technical knowledge

We provide workshops on techniques and crafts according to the participants' needs: from carpentry to business design, from nutrition to film making.

Emotional development

Besides listening and caring for our participants, we facilitate workshops that involve emotional intelligence, teamwork, conflict transformation, and character strengths.

House of Inventions is developed by Perla Montelongo and Node Center for Curatorial Studies - Berlin.
