Program Designed by Perla Montelongo, Roberto Cárdenas and Claudia Hidalgo

How might we continue creating and connecting with our students during the lockdown?

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we faced the challenge of staying connected with our students. Online meetings were not possible due diverse factors, so we created the ’Sprouts Challenge’. Through this program, we used the metaphor of 'sprouts' to explore diverse fields like art, biology, photography, electronics, gastronomy and more.

The challenge was organized into 'missions,' which were carefully packaged with all the necessary materials and instructions, and then delivered to their homes. We then shared the progress and stayed connected through a private Facebook group.

It was during these challenging times that we truly understood the importance of nurturing our House of Inventions family by being together. However, this challenge was not very successful. Participants mentioned that they come to House of Inventions to be together with each other, and it didn't make much sense online.
